About UST
Utility Systems Technologies, Inc. (UST) was started in 1991 with the purpose of designing and manufacturing electronic voltage regulation products as well as performing electrical system and transient analysis. The founder, Dr. Robert Degeneff, was at the time a professor of power engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and also a former design engineer in General Electric’s transformer and high voltage systems operations.
Ten years later, UST was producing a unique line of power conditioning products and also had a growing business in systems and transient analysis and was licensing a proprietary software package worldwide for the analysis of transformer dynamics. All but the power conditioning product activities was spun off in 2002 into a new company, UST2 which continues those engineering activities.
On the strength of its engineering capabilities and the demonstrated pre-eminence of its power conditioning products, UST continues to grow, to develop cutting-edge solutions for power quality issues and forge new customer and market channel relationships around the world.
