Line isolation is the electrical separation of the
incoming and outgoing power through an isolation transformer. These
transformers reduce noise and transients that may be present in the
incoming power. The efficiency of units using an isolation transformer
will typically be 2 or 3 percentage points lower than units not
providing line isolation. |
